I Can't Move

Monday, July 26, 2010

It's true. I can't move, like at all!  I spent the entire weekend being carried:

up stairs, down stairs, to the washroom, the the kitchen

I also spent the weekend

screaming in pain when trying to sit (especially when I had to go to the washroom), hobbling as slow as a sloth to get to and from each room in the house....and limping around the mall.

Can't forget being laughed at by the boyfriend for being a wimp!

Pretty much, I spent the weekend acting like a big baby!

All because I love my friends.   Yup, that's right...it was all out of love.

I'm not a "working out" type of person.  I hate being sweaty, and I just don't find joy out of doing physical activity.

In High school, I used to run.  I actually was top notch at running X-country, and 1500m and 3000m  in track and field.  I barely every placed over 20th in X-Country and was usually top placer in Track.  However...that was in high school...that was over 5 years ago.

Since then, I haven't run...I haven't done any sort of physical activity.

Until this weekend.

I ran 5k with my friends for a good cause!

AND I DID IT!

Maybe I burnt myself out by thinking that I could run as fast as I used to.......but I FINISHED!!!

I was so nervous that I would pass out...but I didn't!

I am now going to start running again because I remembered how much I enjoyed it in High School...and maybe someday I will be able to run as fast and be able to finish the 5k in less then 30 minutes like before!!!!

Hats off to you! I couldn't run 5k if I tried!

No lie! I'd die about halfway through it.

Kudos!

Damn, girl! Pour yourself a nice glass of bubbly-- they say alcohol is supposed to help release lactic acids after a big workout like that.

Just thinking about running 5K is making my thighs burn...
